Malaysia Industrial Production Climbs In January

Industrial production in Malaysia increased 12.7% year-on-year in January, the country's statistics department said on Thursday, coming above forecasts for 11.7% growth. Industrial production was up a revised 7.5% in December.

Manufacturing output increased 16.4% annually in January. Mining output was up 4.1% while the electricity index leaped 19.8%.

On a monthly basis, industrial production increased 2.9%.
